ORRIN HATCH 2018 statement about Republican President Donald Trump
A couple days ago, Hatch also mentioned that Trump is doing a good job and the economy is great.
ORRIN HATCH 1999 statement about Democratic President Bill Clinton
After the Republican House of Representatives impeached Clinton on four counts of what they deemed “high crimes and misdemeanors" (lying about an extramariral affair), Orrin Hatch voted to convict the president and remove him from office, saying, “Committing crimes of moral turpitude such as perjury and obstruction of justice go to the heart of qualification for public office. These offenses were committed by the chief executive of our country, the individual who swore to faithfully execute the laws of the United States.”
“The same analysis applies for the ‘‘good economy means no removal’’ theory. It is intuitive that economic growth can never justify crime or acts rising to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors warranting removal. If President Clinton is removed, our economy will not suffer. The world will still spin on its axis.”
